A Resilient Rain Garden for Hernals
The project introduces a resilient rain garden to Hernals' streetscape with the aim to manage stormwater retention and drainage. To handle extreme weather conditions, such as fluctuations between drought, temporary flooding and street pollutants, a Steppe planting theme was selected. The design features hardy, heat-loving perennials and grasses alongside structural woody plants to create a sustainable, low-maintenance urban habitat.
